Market Day
After all the prep and finally getting most of the final products it was finally time for the in person point of sale at uni. I was super excited for this and to finally see all come together. For this i prepper by collecting a range of research looking at how i can set up my work to make it effective and really draws the customer in.
For example it's great to elevate some of the products to help give more space but also stop from everything appearing very flat. Below shows my photo from my ,market set up, unfortunately i was unable to bring in my usual stand one due to space and to the practicality of bringing it into uni, therefore i used some plastic milk crates stacked on top to help lean the prints against. I think this was great solution and really suit the overall collection.
Throughout the day i made some great sales with the prints and tote bags being particularly popular, and the notepads were particularly very popular and ended up selling out altogether throughout the day. I was so happy with this and was very surprised with how popular they became however, overall i was really impressed and super happy with the out come.
There were definitely elements throughout the day where i felt some of my products were overpriced, however i was not going to change the prices as these were worked out on my past sales which i sell on etsy and also the cost of production and my time added in to it. However. throughout the day as i started making sales i started feeling alot better.
However, overall i was really happy with the market and feel it was super successful and really shows off my products which i had been working so hard. Moving forward if i had to change anything i would be more organised with my time, as unfortunately my notebooks did not arrive in time due to delays in printing, therefore i would give myself a bigger window of time for th eprinting and processing time so it would give them time to be delivered comfortably.
