photos for point of sale

Behind the scenes and Editing

After the in person point of sale, it was important to think of the next and final part of the project with that thinking of the online point of sale. For my online point of sale i have chosen to sell on etsy, as this is somewhere i am already selling and feel comfortable using  and although there is definitely some cons it is overall a great platform to start on as it helps sell your work even if you don't already have a  built up audience.

Part of the selling research involves taking photos for the products, it is important to take good pictures as this will help sell the products and make them look great, photos are an important  part of selling as it helps pull the customer in and makes them more likely to buy.

An element i use is i take a big piece of coloured board to give a plain yet bold background, as you don't want something that is too busy and will distract but instead compliment the products. I currently use a high quality setting on my phone to take my photos as these are absolutely perfect for the situation.

Below shows a behind the scenes picture of me taking the photos with products placed on the board and using the natural light to illuminate and not have nay distinct shadows.

Once i had took the photos i then import the favourites into lightroom to help enhance the photos further, i find lightroom the easiest for my editing process as it gives you so many options however in this process i simply focus on the lighting brightening it further to illuminate and also using the colour tools to add warmth and up the vibrance to enhance the overall look.

I liked how they turned out as they feel bright and playful and really compliment the products.

Final Images

Below shows my final photos for the remaining products which i uploaded onto etsy. Overall i am really happy with how they look and think they add a professional look to the collection and feel it should draw the customer in more making them more likely to click and look further at the product.

Moving forward the next step is to get it all uploaded onto etsy and get them ready for sales.
