As part of the Visual Story telling project it is important we look at our professional image and how we can build on it further to create sales and interest within our work. When it comes to the business area of illustration I very much enjoy the process and looking into marketing myself to help myself grow as an illustrator. Therefore earlier in the year I made a website to display my online portfolio to any potential clients. I used Square Space to build my website as I liked how smooth the host software worked and think it looked professional for the cheaper price. Originally i used my website to just display my online portfolio, however using this project I would love to develop it further.

To begin developing my website further I began by referring back to my online portfolio and looking at how I could freshen it up to really communicate who I am as an illustrator I added some more graphical elements with a main banner followed my an up to date gallery of past work. I am proud of how this looks as i feel this really captures who I am and also my work i have produced so far as well as my past opportunities.
Branding Page
I also wanted to develop it further by including a branding page where potential clients could look at some illustration style branding work I have done in the past. I have done a few individual jobs relating to branding and really enjoyed helping someone create their own personal identity. This is something I would love to look further into so thought it would be a great idea to advertise my past branding style work. I feel to develop this further i may create myself some briefs in which i rebrand some businesses so i can add to my branding portfolio.
About Me Page
I also retouched up my About me Page. I felt it is important to include an about me page so my potential clients can really get a sense for who i am and what i stand for. Previously i just used my self portrait, however after doing some research i found it actually nicer to have a professional photo of yourself so potential customers can see the face behind the brand giving a personal yet professional element.
Moving forward i might look at adding more elements for example moving my online shop to my main website instead of selling through etsy where i have to pay extra fees. Or i may think about adding a blog where i can discuss my work and also the process i go through to create it. As this is something i like to view myself.
