Market stall inspiration and research

As part of our visual story telling project we are to sell our work at the Staffordshire Uni Christmas Market, as part of this it is important to think about different aspects such as the layout and how i could present my work in a way that would appeal to the buyer.

Stall Inspiration

Below I have collected a range of inspiration from Pinterest showing different stalls all with a range of products, i feel these stalls stood out to me personally as they were all eye catching within their colours and how they create height to show off their individual products.

I particularly like this stall above and the one below. I love how they’ve really thought about the colours they are using from their banner branding to the colour of the stands. I feel this is something super important to think about as it is best to compliment the colour of your products as this will help the product appeal to the potential buyer.

Past Stall Set Up for

Over the summer i actually attended some markets selling my own work and below shows some of my pervious set up. Before this I did a range of research as well as making some of my own stands to help display my prints, I think i will use one of these for the uni market as it helps elevate the products and really display them.

I need to think about the space as we are too share a table allowing us to have one metre of space each. Because of this I’m thinking of using my peach coloured print stand, as seen below,  it is thinner in width however will still allow me to create a sense of height for my display and shows the products off individually.

I often also use these pastel milk style crates as seen below, I feel they are effective to show off my products as they're bright colours which compliment my work whilst also providing a sense of organisation to the display.

I have also ordered some smaller style easel which I’m considering of using to help stand and show some of my notebooks and notepads. To help fit it with the overall look i may print them a similar colour to my usual market colour palette to help create a connection between the display stands.

Other elements i intend to think of our table cloths, banner and branding and also how i will be taking money, usually i use a sum up card reader so therefore will continue with this method as it provides easier access for buyers instead of carrying cash.
