On Wednesday session we went through some blogs as a group looking at what different people had produced so far in their projects. During this point i had some ideas however, was still very much unsure with where i could see my project going. However, after receiving feedback it was mentioned that instead of looking at the story traditionally I could look at the landscape and botanical elements maybe focusing on the foliage more with smaller peaks of the main characters in between. As soon as I thought of this idea I instantly went and looking for inspiration as I feel this would suit my brand and also my current target audience.
Below i collected a few images which i felt all captured this idea of landscape, however all very different. For example the picture in the top left as a simplistic yet pattern approach as they focused on beautiful jungle tones with brighter pops of colour. I could just imagine something similar however with the characters popping in between the leaves revealing more about the story. I also liked the top right image in which we can see more of an abstract approach, the artist seems to use the colours to tell more about the environment with some texture being layered on top to reveal leaf outlines. I feel this has interesting textual elements and contrasts to the surrounding artwork I collected.
I also like the piece below which seems to be a sort of lino print maybe completed with black ink and printed onto green paper. I liked this idea as it is different from the other pieces that I've chosen and maybe encourages me to go and looking at different styles of printing and how I could include them within my own work.
Moving forward I intend to look at different foliage in observational style and capturing them in traditional methods before possibly developing the further possibly digitally.
