The image above is an illustration i found on Pinterest which linked to Etsy Seller NathsSketch. I felt this was a perfect example of what i could do not only for my art and adaptation of The Hobbit but also how they have produced it to sell on an online market place. This piece was actually done for The Lord Of The Rings, however included key elements such as the hobbit hole and the landscape of the shire. I particularly liked this pieces as I loved the soft toned colours along with the texture which gives depth to the image. This is the style that I would like to experiment with when it comes to creating visuals.
The second image i found was also from Pinterest and linked to the website Cosmo Creative, I chose this particular piece as visual inspiration as i love the colours used to communicate the jungle landscape. I also love the playful style of the composition with the king monkey holding Mowgil as though he is swinging like one of them. I Also like the texture she has created by using digital brushes to add traditional effects for example, I like how the monkeys further looks as though it has been created by using loose marks of a pencil which has been layered with different colours to add depth and detail.
I chose to lok at these two images as inspiration as it is nice to see how other artists have captured the narrative especially for an audience that you are also thinking about. I feel both these images have elements tha i would love to experiment with depending on which narrative I choose.
